The campaign will emphasize that simple changes in daily diet and activity levels can greatly reduce the risk of prediabetes developing into type 2 diabetes, which can lead to a lifetime of major health problems.
Along with teaching people about positive lifestyle changes, the campaign will encourage taking a test for prediabetes. This test will let people know if they currently have prediabetes or are at risk of developing it so they can make the lifestyle changes that could help save their lives.
