Get Moving to Celebrate Sports Physical Therapy During National Physical Therapy Month

October is National Physical Therapy Month (NPTM) and MD Now encourages the community to actively support this worthwhile event. National Physical Therapy Month is hosted by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) every October to show appreciation for all of the physical therapy organizations, sports physical therapy specialists, and physical therapist assistants who have helped millions of people get back on their feet. By providing physical rehabilitation and pain therapy services, these organizations and individuals are transforming society by improving and restoring motion in the lives of injured people. At MD Now, we’ve seen physical rehabilitation work wonders for many of our patients who have experienced an injury that’s resulted in loss of motion or pain during movement. Now that October is almost here, discover the rewarding ways that you, your family, and the entire community can take an active role in supporting National Physical Therapy Month.

It’s a Pleasure to Support Pain Therapy Through APTA’s #AgeWell Campaign

The focus of the #AgeWell campaign is how physical rehabilitation therapists, sports physical therapy practitioners, and movement specialists help people overcome pain, enhance their range of movement, and maintain their independence as they age. To help you learn more about physical therapy, the APTA has created an official consumer information web site that highlights the value of all kinds of rehabilitative and sports physical therapy. While the APTA has developed the #AgeWell campaign to promote the web site and its message through social media, online advertising, and media outreach, they’re also asking for the community’s help to spread this news in the following ways:

  • Share all of the #AgeWell resources found at www.MoveForwardPT.com/AgeWell with friends and contacts through social media.
  • Follow MoveForwardPT on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest and then continue to retweet, share, and pin all #AgeWell posts.
  • Host a fun event for the community to celebrate National Physical Therapy Month.
  • Medical professionals should let their patients know about MoveForwardPT.com.

Run to Recognize Global PT Day of Service

Global PT Day of Service will be on October 17. The community can also acknowledge National Physical Therapy Month by supporting the Global PT Day of Service and sharing information about it with everyone in their lives.
