What is a Virtual Visit?

A virtual visit allows you to be seen in real-time over video conference by phone, tablet, or desktop computer by an MD Now provider at your home, at the office, or wherever life takes you. Our physician-led team of healthcare professionals can evaluate a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and other urgent care needs online. All you need is a mobile device or computer—we’ll take care of the rest.

When are Virtual Visits Offered at MD Now?

Virtual visits are available Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM and Saturday-Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM.

What Does an MD Now Virtual Visit Cost?

If you’re paying with insurance, the cost of a virtual visit will depend on your individual plan. We also offer self-pay pricing for $75.

When Should I Check in for an MD Now Virtual Visit?

While we can treat many minor conditions with MD Now Virtual Visits, there are times when your provider may need to perform a more thorough examination, obtain a test, or take an X-ray in order to diagnose your condition and determine the correct treatment. In that case, your MD Now Virtual Visit provider will simply transfer your visit to an MD Now clinic, where we will be waiting for you to arrive.

Please note that if you are transferred, you will only be billed for a single visit. Additional testing or other treatment at our facility, if necessary, may be added to the final cost of your visit.

If you have questions about insurance or billing, please reach out to your nearest MD Now location.

What Types of Services are Offered through an MD Now Virtual Visit?

MD Now offers many of the same services as our state-of-the-art clinics through telehealth including a full spectrum of illnesses and minor injuries, such as:

How Should I Prepare for my MD Now Virtual Visit?

Follow the steps below to make sure your visit goes as smoothly as possible:

  • It’s important that you download Google Chrome browser if you do not already have it installed.
  • We also highly recommend that you prepare your mobile device or computer and ensure the following items are ready before you begin:
    • Be sure you have adequate battery life.
    • Close any unnecessary programs on your device to ensure reliable connectivity.
    • Double-check that your connection is strong, whether it’s an internet or mobile service signal.

Other things to consider before your visit:

Set up for Quality Sound

  • Find a quiet space where you are unlikely to be interrupted during your visit.
  • We recommend using earbuds with a microphone or a headset to make it easier for you and your provider to communicate clearly.

See and be Seen

  • Be sure you have good lighting—use overhead lights and block lights from windows, which can cause glare.
  • If you choose to use a mobile device, position your camera correctly by placing it at eye level so your head and shoulders are fully visible to your provider.

Dress Appropriately

  • For example, if your concern is with your arm, wear short sleeves for easy access.

Decide if You will Need Assistance

  • If you need to show hard-to-reach areas (such as a sore throat), it’s encouraged to have someone assist you by holding a flashlight or directing the camera so your provider can do a thorough examination.
